Inflation has caused the price of disposable cutlery in Canada to increase commensurate with inflation rates. This increase in cost is partially due to higher input costs (such as plastic resin used to manufacture the cutlery) as the cost of items used to produce disposable cutlery has also increased with inflation. Manufacturers of disposable cutlery have also needed to increase prices to maintain profit margins
